Spring Message
Hello
It’s great to feel the weather is perhaps a little bit warmer and the days are certainly longer. I am sure we are all looking forward to the summer riding and competing our horses. Our summer league starts on Wednesday 17th May and the evening shows give you an opportunity to compete your horse or pony in a very relaxed setting. The shows run from 4 – 8 pm and we take classes out of order to be as flexible for everyone to fit in a class after school, college or work. Our summer clinics also start this month and on Sunday 28th May we have Hayley Liddiard, a list 3 judge and BD accredited trainer hosting a clinic for us. Hayley competes at Advanced Medium and enjoys working with riders at all levels so do book in for a clinic session with Hayley for 40minutes at the special club rate of £25.00. Please note the club will pay for the indoor school hire and so please book via this link to our clinics
Congratulations to all our winter winners, both at the championship show on April 9th and those awarded their trophies for the winter league. We had a fantastic turnout for our AGM last week where league winners were awarded prizes and then we had an exciting quiz, with 7 teams competing and the worthy winners were the Doncasters!
It’s so rewarding to see so many members actively enjoying their horses and I would like to say a very special well done to Hilary French on Elvis who competed recently at the Nationals and came 11th in their class, riding at Advanced Medium. Many of you will know this partnership and I think we can all agree that Elvis can be a little quirky and I can only say very congratulations to Hilary who is doing so well with him. Onwards and upwards Hilary! Rachel Kellett has also been accepted as a list 5 judge so many congratulations to Rachel too and also thanks to Rachel who continues to organise our popular pole clinics with John Bowen and we are of course grateful to Alyson who hosts these at her home for us. Click here for further info about the pole work clinics
Colleen Taylor continues to organize our Team events and it would be good to see lots of people riding for the club on our team. Do look at our facebook page and website for more information.
Of course I need to also write about the sad loss to our club with the recent death of Mrs Jenner last month. Mrs Jenner was the owner of Woodlands and over very many years she has been such a tremendous support to equestrian activity in our part of the world. Mrs Jenner will be very sadly missed by many people and their horses in Essex. At the moment we do not know who will take over the running of Woodlands and so for now it is continuing business as usual. Therefore we will continue to run our club events there for 2017.
I do hope you will enjoy your membership of the club over the summer and I look forward to seeing you and your horses at some of our clinics and shows over the next few months
Best wishes
Laura
